Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
BRiDDG helps high school students turn their real experiences into college matches, essays and career paths. Students trust us with personal stories, and we protect them.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices students, parents and schools have. It applies to briddg.com, app.briddg.com and any BRiDDG service that links to it. BRiDDG is operated by The Rebel Scholar Corp., doing business as BRiDDG ("BRiDDG," "we," "us"), 1534 N Moorpark Rd #375, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States. Questions: support@briddg.com.
Our commitments
- We never sell student personal information.
- We never use student personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising, on BRiDDG or anywhere else.
- We never build profiles of students except to provide BRiDDG to them or for their school's educational purpose.
- We use student information only to run, secure and improve BRiDDG for students.
- A student's moments and essays belong to the student and are private by default.
- Parents see a student's account only when the student invites them, or as described below for children under 13.
- Schools control the student data they provide to us or that students create through a school account.
- Students and parents can review, download or delete account data at any time.

Cookies. We use only cookies and similar technologies that are needed to sign in, keep the service secure, remember settings and understand basic usage. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or cross-site tracking.
How we use information
- To provide BRiDDG: profiles, strengths, college matches, career paths, essay guidance and scholarship tools
- To send account, security and service messages
- To send product updates to users 13 and older who opt in, with an unsubscribe link in every email
- To keep BRiDDG safe and prevent fraud and misuse
- To fix problems and improve BRiDDG, using de-identified or aggregated data wherever possible
- To comply with the law
What we never do
- Sell or rent student personal information
- Use student information for targeted advertising or show third-party ads to students
- Share student information with ad networks, data brokers, affiliate marketers or retargeting platforms
- Allow the AI providers we use to train their own models on student content
- Write essays for students
How AI is used
BRiDDG uses AI models to organize a student's saved moments, suggest matches and give essay feedback. Students always write their own essays. We send AI providers only the information needed for each request, under contracts that prohibit them from using student content to train their models or for any other purpose.
Children under 13
BRiDDG is designed for high school students. We ask for age at signup. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, or school authorization where the law allows it.
If a child under 13 tries to sign up on their own, we:
- Pause the signup and collect only a parent or guardian's email address
- Email the parent to explain BRiDDG, what we would collect and how we would use it, and ask for consent
- Delete the parent's email and any other information if consent is not given within 14 days
We collect from a child under 13 only the information reasonably needed to use BRiDDG. We do not disclose a child's personal information to third parties except to the service providers listed below, who help us operate BRiDDG and are bound by contract to protect it. We do not make a child's information publicly available.
Parents and guardians of a child under 13 can, at any time:
- Review the personal information we hold about their child
- Ask us to delete it
- Refuse to allow further collection or use of their child's information
To make a request, email support@briddg.com. We will verify that you are the child's parent or guardian before acting.
When a school uses BRiDDG with students under 13, the school may provide consent on the parent's behalf, for the school's educational purpose only, as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) allows. In that case we use the information only for that educational purpose, and parents can contact the school or us to review or delete their child's information.
We keep a child's information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide BRiDDG, and we protect it under a written information security program.
Schools and districts
When a school or district provides BRiDDG to its students, the school controls the student data it shares with us and the data students create through the school's account.
For school accounts, BRiDDG:
- Acts as a "school official" under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), under the school's direct control for the use and maintenance of education records
- Uses student data only for the educational purpose the school authorizes
- Does not redisclose student data except as the school directs or the law requires
- Signs a data privacy agreement with the school or district on request
- Lets the school review, export or correct student data
- Deletes or returns student data when the school asks or the agreement ends, within 60 days
- Notifies the school before any material change to how we handle its students' data
- Notifies the school promptly of any security breach affecting its students
Parents and eligible students may request access to or correction of education records through their school, and we will help the school respond.
In line with California's Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA) and similar state student privacy laws, BRiDDG does not sell student information, use it for targeted advertising, or build student profiles for any purpose other than K-12 educational purposes.
Students may download their own essays and moments to keep, including after a school account ends.
Parent View
Students choose whether to invite a parent or guardian. Parent View is read-only. It shows progress and strengths. Essay text stays private unless the student shares it. Students can remove a parent's access at any time. For children under 13, parents have the rights described above.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us operate BRiDDG, under written contracts that limit them to that work and require them to protect the information.
| Provider type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services) | Hosting and secure storage |
| Payment processors (Stripe, Square) | Processing Premium payments |
| Email providers (Brevo, Google Workspace) | Account, service and support email |
| AI model providers | Essay feedback, organization and matching. Not allowed to train on student content |
We also share information when a school directs us, when the law requires it, or when needed to protect someone's safety. We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
If BRiDDG is ever involved in a merger or sale, any buyer must honor this policy for information already collected, or we will notify users and schools first and delete data on request.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit staff access to people who need it, and maintain a written information security program with a designated person responsible for it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you, and your school if applicable, as the law requires.
How long we keep information
We keep information while an account is active. When an account is deleted, we delete personal information within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Backup copies are removed within 90 days. We delete accounts of children under 13 that have been inactive for 12 months. School data follows the school's agreement or the school's instructions.
Your rights and choices
Students, parents and guardians of students under 18, and schools can:
- See the information we hold
- Correct it
- Download a copy
- Delete the account and its data
- Opt out of product emails
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and other states with privacy laws have these rights under those laws as well. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in that regard. We will not treat anyone differently for using their privacy rights. California residents under 18 may also ask us to remove content they posted publicly.
To make a request, email support@briddg.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will email account holders and notify schools before the change takes effect. We will not use student information already collected in a materially different way without consent.
